Block level under-14 category tournament in Shimla district from 01 September

On one hand, the torrential rains are not stopping, on the other hand, the education department has decided to organize block level tournaments for under-14 boys and girls from 1st September to 8th September in the entire district Shimla. For which preparations are being done on a large scale in the schools of the respective blocks. Only four days are left for the tournament. Formal games will start on 31st August. Although earlier the block level tournaments were scheduled from 21st August to 28th August, but in view of the rains, the education department has amended the program and issued orders to organize it from 1st September. Due to heavy rains, the organizers are in a fix.
Many educationists and intellectuals say that if the rainy season does not stop, the children may face a lot of problems during the tournament. They say that there is no proper arrangement of toilets etc. for about three hundred children in any school of the state, in such a situation the children will have to go out in the rain for toilets etc. Not only this, there is a lot of possibility of spread of waterborne diseases during the rainy season. Apart from this, the condition of roads is also not good due to rain and children of far-flung schools may face difficulty in reaching the tournament station. However, due to rain, the education department has postponed the tournament of under 19 students to be held on 16 September.
When the Deputy Director of Education (Primary) Office, Shimla was contacted on this issue, he said that the date of the school tournaments in the entire state is decided at the Secretariat and Directorate level.
