Kamal Gautam was appointed as the President after no nomination was filed by Congress and support was received from BJP. This election was held under the chairmanship of Sadar SDM Abhishek Kumar Garg. Let us tell you that Kamalendra Kashyap, who had left BJP and joined Congress, was appointed as the President in Nagar Parishad Bilaspur earlier, but later, due to the lack of support from BJP councillors and the President, a lot of opposition started against him from within. Ultimately, Kamalendra Kashyap himself resigned from his post of President. He said that the flag of BJP remains on Nagar Parishad Bilaspur.

State President of Bharatiya Janata Party Dr. Rajiv Bindal congratulated the people of Bilaspur on the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party in the post of President in Municipal Council Bilaspur, congratulated Bilaspur BJP and Bilaspur MLA Trilok Jamwal.

Dr Bindal said that BJP becoming the president of Bilaspur Municipal Council is the victory of the working style of Bharatiya Janata Party and the defeat of the present Sukhwinder government of Congress.

Dr Bindal said that in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP won all four seats in Himachal and defeated Congress. Still Congress is rejoicing. All the ministers and chief ministers of Congress party and Congress government lost the elections in their respective constituencies, despite that the government is expressing a superficial happiness while the government has become hollow from inside. Congress losing in 61 out of 68 assembly constituencies is the result of nepotism, corruption and ineffectiveness of the present Congress government. In the coming times also, the people of the state will continuously defeat this government of friends.
