BJP has no contribution in the development of Naidun assembly constituency : Sukhu
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu campaigned vigorously in his constituency on Wednesday. The Chief Minister addressed street meetings in Kitpal, Bhawda, Kaloor, Kohla, Majhiyar, Kangu, Batran, Chilliyan, Jalari, Bela, Naidun and Sera. He said that the sellable MLAs are contesting the elections with a withered flower. They have sold the hand of Congress and bought the flower of BJP. Even BJP workers are not accepting them.
BJP has no contribution in the development of Nadaun. Congress party and I have taken this area to great heights. Today Nadaun’s name is on the national and international map. For the last five years, development work in Nadaun remained stalled, former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur did not take care of my area. BJP did not bring any new project, the development works which were approved earlier were also stopped.
The Chief Minister said that the sell-out MLAs tried for a month to remove the first Congress Chief Minister from lower Himachal. Money power was used a lot, but the one who has the power of the people, God’s blessings and the party high command cannot be removed by the sell-out people. No matter how much the BJP and former Chief Minister Jai Ram try, the Congress government will complete its five-year term. The sweet dreams of BJP’s Mungeri Lal will never be fulfilled.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh said that BJP MP Anurag Thakur is not even ashamed of lying about Jolsappar Medical College. He should correct his information. I got this college approved with a budget of Rs 179 crore on 3 March 2014 while I was the Congress President. The BJP government was formed at the Centre in May 2014. The then Health Minister Vipin Parmar has placed all the records related to the approval of the college on the table of the Assembly. Anurag should collect the facts related to the medical college from the Assembly and through RTI. Anurag has been cheating people for 10 years regarding the railway line also.
The Chief Minister said that I organized an international river rafting competition in Naidun. An indoor stadium is being built in Kharidi ground, a new shopping complex will be built in Naidun. Work is going on to provide RO water to every house. Electric bus depot is being built in Mowalghat. Tourism hotels are being built, bridge and road construction work worth crores of rupees is going on. Provision of funds for these has been made in the budget. Our government has secured the old age of employees by giving OPS. A scheme to give pension of Rs 1500 to women has been started. 2.37 women are getting Rs 1500. Rs 1500 has been credited to the accounts of all the women of Lahaul Spiti. Children of widowed women will be educated free of cost till 27 years. Free treatment facility up to Rs 25 lakh is being provided to the elderly above the age of 70 years. Apart from this, the government gave MSP on milk, increased the daily wages of MNREGA workers by Rs 60.
The Chief Minister said that on June 1, the fight is between people’s power and money power. Vote for Satpal Raizada for Lok Sabha and wherever the 6 by-elections are being held, ask your relatives to vote for Congress. Your vote for Lok Sabha will go to the Chief Minister. Earlier, the people of Naidun used to vote for me as MLA, now vote for me as Chief Minister. The state government will work for three and a half years now, no stone will be left unturned for development. The former Chief Minister may keep daydreaming, his dream of becoming Chief Minister by toppling the government will not be fulfilled.
During this, Lok Sabha in-charge Anees Ahmed, Block Congress President Captain Prithvi Chand and heads of local panchayats were present.
