But the anti gardener government is not taking any step. Nati said that the packing charges for apples have exceeded Rs 300 per box. Along with this, the rates of fertilizers and medicines are also very high. During the time of the BJP government, the increase in inflation is hitting the gardeners the most. Due to which the gardeners are getting ruined now. The gardeners have been agitating for the last 15 days for their demands, but the government is not paying any attention to their problems. Norty said that the government should immediately reduce the GST on the packing material of apples or provide relief to the gardeners by giving subsidy. The cost of transporting 20 to 25 kg boxes to the market, including cartons, grading, packing, freight, is costing 300 to 400 rupees. The BJP government has increased the rate of GST on cartons from 12 to 18. Due to which the prices of cartons have increased tremendously. The bundle of 100 trays which was getting Rs 450 to 550 last year. This time its price is getting 700 to 800 rupees per bundle. That is, the maximum price has increased by Rs 250 per bundle. Similarly, the box which was getting 53 to 68 rupees last year, this time 60 to 80 rupees have to be paid for it. The price of the box has also increased by a maximum of Rs 12. Even 20 years ago, it was sold between Rs 1000 to 2000, then it used to cost 30 to 35 rupees to prepare a box. Even today, the price of apples is found only between 1000 to 2000, while the cost has gone up to Rs 300 to 400 per box. In the past, sticks and bullets were fired at the farmers who were agitating for their demands during the time of the BJP government. Terming the BJP government as anti-gardener, Aninder Singh Narty said that the BJP government has never worked for the interests of the gardeners. In the past, even in 1990, there was a lewd joke with the gardeners when the support price of apple was increased by only 25 paise. When the gardeners protested against this, the farmers of the entire Upper Himachal were used with sticks, bullets, and even hot water. Shimla farmers became a witness to the groans of the gardeners, then three farmers in Kotgarh became victims of police bullets, today the same joke is happening with the farmers again but more than ever. Governments of both the Congress and BJP parties came and went in the state, but the issue on which they were martyred, the questions still remain. They did not get justice. In 2016, 6 more ports other than Mumbai were opened for apple import and quarantine testing and as a result apple imports increased manifold. Apples of Himachal gardeners are being bought cheaply by bringing glut in the market by bringing inferior quality apples from abroad through Afghanistan and China from Iran. In the last election, these same rhetoricians had promised that apples would be given special product status and import duties would be increased so that black marketing of apples coming from Iran and Turkey could be stopped. The anti-horticulturalist government of the BJP has encouraged instead of banning illegal imports and kept import duty low, leading to an increase in the black marketing of apples coming from Iran and Turkey.
