BJP demands CBI investigation in Vimal Negi case

BJP District Shimla organized a candle march from Sher-e-Punjab to CTO over the mysterious death of Vimal Negi. The program was presided over by District President Keshav Chauhan. After the march, BJP workers also paid floral tribute to the picture of Vimal Negi. Former minister Suresh Bhardwaj, candidate Ravi Mehta, Sanjay Sood, media in-charge Karna Nanda, Sanjeev Katwal, treasurer Kamal Sood, co-media in-charge Pyar Singh Kanwar, Rama Thakur, Sudeep, Bilal Shah, Mandal President Sanjeev Chauhan, Rajiv Pandit, Shivani, Yog Raj, Bharat Bhushan and Rahul Thakur were present on this occasion.

On this occasion, Suresh Bhardwaj said that there is a problem in recording the statements of Corporation Director Desraj and former Managing Director Harikesh Meena in the case of death of General Manager Vimal Negi of State Energy Corporation. There is a possibility of Desraj absconding, while Harikesh Meena goes on leave. In this regard, statements of Vimal’s wife and relatives have been recorded a few days ago. On the basis of the investigation so far, only pressure has come to the fore in this case. The files signed by Vimal during the last six months have also been investigated. He said that if the state government is not completing the investigation, then it should hand over the investigation to CBI, which is a pending demand of all BJP leaders.

Ravi Mehta said that the police investigating the reasons behind the death of late Vimal Negi, Chief Engineer of Power Corporation, has not got any major success yet. Because in this case, the police has not named anyone except the Director of the Corporation, Deshraj, in the FIR. Whereas Negi’s wife has accused two more officers of the Corporation in her complaint. Deshraj has not been caught by the police after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the High Court. The police is raiding all possible places in search of him. There is a discussion in some circles that Deshraj will also try for anticipatory bail in the Supreme Court and will not be caught by the police until the Supreme Court’s decision comes. It is clearly visible in this entire incident that the state government is not serious about the investigation, so the investigation should be handed over to the CBI.

Sanjay Sood said that from what the state High Court has said while rejecting the anticipatory bail plea of Deshraj, it becomes clear that the inability of the police to reach Deshraj after the bail was rejected gives rise to many more questions.
