Bhohat Kasol: Himachal’s New Adventure Tourism Hotspot

In an exciting development for Himachal Pradesh, the picturesque village of Bhohat Kasol in Bilaspur district is set to become a prime tourist destination. Plans are in motion to introduce over 20 thrilling adventure activities, aiming to give urban visitors a taste of rural life and nature’s beauty.

Recently, tourism officials visited the area near Kol Dam and were pleased to find that the water level remains stable year-round, making it perfect for continuous tourism. This stability promises a host of activities and attractions for visitors throughout the year.

The transformation of Bhohat Kasol is part of a broader initiative to boost tourism in lesser-known areas of Himachal Pradesh. With a detailed action plan, the goal is to create a vibrant tourism hub that will stand out amidst the state’s popular spots like Shimla and Spiti.

Interestingly, places like Solan have already started to draw more tourists than the traditional favorites. In fact, Solan recently overtook Shimla as the top tourist destination in Himachal. This shift highlights a growing trend of visitors seeking new and unique experiences.

From January to May 2024, Himachal Pradesh saw a significant influx of tourists, with over 7.4 million visitors, marking a 3.5% increase from the previous year. The state also welcomed more international travelers, with numbers rising from around 23 thousand to 32 thousand plus.

As Bhohat Kasol gears up to offer an array of adventure activities and a genuine rural experience, it is poised to become the next big thing in Himachal’s tourism scene, promising unforgettable experiences for all who visit.
