AIIMS Bilaspur Organizes Successful Awareness Session on Prevention of Workplace Sexual Harassment

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur, successfully organized an awareness session on the prevention of workplace sexual harassment under the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act).

The session witnessed participation from over 110 individuals, including security guards, sanitation workers, and other staff, showcasing the institute’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for all. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rupali Parlewar, Dean (Academics) of AIIMS Bilaspur, who emphasized the importance of awareness and preventive measures to address harassment at the workplace.

2. Responsibilities of Employees in Maintaining a Safe Work Environment

Presenter: Dr. Sumita Sharma, Associate Professor, Biochemistry

3. Overview of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013

Presenter: Mr. Arvind Kumar Nadda, Legal Advisor, AIIMS Bilaspur

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sushruti Kaushal, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The session helped participants understand the significance of creating a safe and respectful workplace environment. The large turnout and enthusiastic participation reflected AIIMS Bilaspur’s proactive approach to workplace safety and gender equality.
