AIDWA slams Modi government against price hike of cooking gas

State unit of All India Democratic Women Association today slammed Union Government for the increase in the prices of domestic and Commercial LPG cylinders by Rs.50 and Rs.350.State President of AIDWA Reena Singh and Secretary Falma Chauhan stated in a press release issued here today that Modi government at the center has increased the prices of gas immediately after the completion of elections in three states of the country. Women in different parts of the state are already unable to afford LPG cylinders as their price ranges from Rs 1050 to Rs 1100.  This price hike would forced many consumers in the state to not refill gas cylinders, this would further force women in the state to switched over to smoky cooking.

The huge increase in commercial cylinder by Rs 350 would further cause  increase the food products inflation. Already, frequent hikes in gas prices, intolerable levels of inflation and rising food prices, and rampant unemployment have made it extremely difficult for women to burn their hearth at home.  This increase shows the insensitivity of the BJP-RSS government led by Modi. AIDWA has demanded immediate withdrawal of this unjustified price hike and has called for a strong protest across the state against this attack on the lives of women.
