AIDWA Demands Action Against BJP MLA Over “Serious Allegations” by Young Woman
The All India Democratic Women’s Committee (AIDWA) has escalated a confrontation with local BJP MLA Hansraj Singh, submitting a formal memorandum to the State Women’s Commission demanding his suspension and arrest.
The move comes in support of a young woman from the Churah assembly constituency who has made serious allegations against the legislator on social media.
The committee has accused the MLA of using highly derogatory language to dismiss the claims, including allegedly insinuating that the woman was “speaking under the influence of drugs.”
“This is not the first time this young woman has bravely come forward with serious accusations against the MLA,” a representative from AIDWA stated. “Yet, no action was taken by the government then, and she was denied justice. This inaction is unacceptable.”
The memorandum also alleges that MLA Singh is deliberately stoking communal tensions by using Hindu-Muslim rhetoric in the controversy.
AIDWA has put forth three key demands:
- A fair and immediate investigation into the woman’s allegations.
- Provision of immediate police security for the woman and her family, citing concerns for their safety.
- The revocation of Hansraj Singh’s membership in the legislative assembly.
The signatories to the memorandum included State Secretary Falma Chauhan, State Treasurer Sonia Shabrawal, and District Secretary Rama Ravat. The case has begun attracting significant public attention, putting pressure on authorities to respond.
