After one feet snow Shimla freezes at minus 2 degrees
After witnessing one feet snowfall in last 24 hrs this capital town freezed at minus two degree Celsius coldest seasons, baring rail all public transport came to standstill.
The Meterogical Department said that Shimla have 32.6 cm Snowfall in Last 24hrs, thick blanket of snow covering roof, roads, pavement and trees making presenting a panoramic view.
Minimum and Maximum temperature of Shimla was minus 2.1 degrees and 1.2 degrees, power supply, telecommunication and rail services are also partly affected in the town however others services remained in complete halt.
Including Shimla, Narkanda and Kufri are among most of places as they are cut off from the rest of world as Hindustan Tibet National Highway-5 and Shimla-Kangra National Highway -88 is snowbound at many places.
The public works department, Shimla Mincipal Corporation, State Electricity Board and Police Jawan is working on warfooting to restore the public services and clear the snow.
Three days of continues heavy snowfall and inceasent rain it was mainly sunny this morning gave respite from shivering coldwave on Saturday.
Even it is extremely dangerous to ply the vehicle in clear raids as due to freezing temperatures thick forst layer formed on the roads.
District administration tried hard to restore public transport but continue snowfall forced it to keep Educational Institution and office close today.
