Accident shook Bhoranj: Car fell into ditch near Garli-Dhabhiyana, two dead, two injured
A tragic road accident shook the Bhoranj area when a Santro car (HP 22D 3596) lost control and fell into a 250-foot-deep ravine near Garli-Dhabhiyana. Of the four people in the car, two were from the same family and two others were seriously injured.
The deceased have been identified as Mr. Ramesh Chand Dhiman (74 years old) and his wife, Mrs. Santosh Kumari (66 years old), residents of Dalalar village in the Bhoranj area. Ramesh Chand Dhiman reportedly died at the scene of the accident, while Santosh Kumari was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.
According to reports, the driver, Mr. Prithi Chand, was on his way to attend a function at a relative’s house with his wife, Mrs. Saroj Kumari, brother-in-law Ramesh Chand Dhiman, and his wife, Santosh Kumari. The vehicle suddenly went out of control and fell into a deep ditch near Garli-Dhabhiyana.
Upon receiving information about the incident, local residents, police, and rescue teams arrived at the scene. The police completed legal procedures and handed over the bodies of the two deceased to their families after post-mortem.
The injured Prithvi Chand and Saroj Kumari were immediately referred to Dr. Radhakrishnan Medical College and Hospital, Hamirpur, where after treatment, their condition is said to be improving and they have been shifted to the general ward.
Rajiv Rana reached the hospital and consoled the family.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Rajiv Rana, member of the State Backward Classes Commission and State Chairman of the KCC Himachal Pradesh, rushed to the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured. He met with the bereaved family and expressed his deep condolences.
Rajiv Rana said,
“This accident is extremely sad and heartbreaking. Bhoranj has lost two of its respected citizens. My condolences are with the bereaved families. May God grant peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured.”
This heart-wrenching accident has created a wave of mourning in the entire Bhoranji area.
