A huge crowd of people will gather at Chudhar for faith and devotion

A huge crowd of people will gather on 11 October at the famous pilgrimage site of North India, Chundchandni. Shand Maha Yagya is going to be held on 11 October at Shirgul Temple Churdhar, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, situated at a height of about 12 thousand feet above sea level on the border of Sirmour and Shimla. The administration has estimated that about thirty thousand people from Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, and Jaunsar-Bawar region of Uttarakhand will attend the event. Please note that after the renovation of Shirgul Temple on the peak of Churdhar, Shand Maha Yagya is going to be held here after many years.
Let us tell you that the birthplace of Shirgul Maharaj is believed to be Shaya near Rajgarh where later he took birth in the house of King Bhukharu. While Chudhar is believed to be the place of penance of Shirgul where the self-created Shivling established by Shirgul is present in the temple, by visiting which the devotees earn merit. There is no idol in this temple except Shivling. Every year lakhs of devotees and tourists reach Chudhar Peak and enjoy the natural beauty of nature in addition to the darshan of Shivling in the temple.
Let us tell you that the renovation work of the Chudhar temple has been going on for the last 20-22 years, which has now been completed. The amazing wood carving of the temple has been done by famous artisans of Himachal Pradesh. According to sources, in this Shand Maha Yagya, twelve palanquins of Shirgul Devta will be included in the procession. Kurud will be established on 11 October, which will be the main attraction of this Maha Yagya.
According to the information, this Maha Yagya is being conducted by the ‘Khund’ community, which is a brave branch of the Khas caste. This Maha Yagya is a symbol of religious faith and traditions as well as local culture, to make it successful, thousands of devotees and servants are working together in addition to the Chudeshwar Seva Samiti. The work of arranging for the devotees coming from Sirmaur is being looked after by SDM Sangrah while this temple comes under SDM Chaupal. According to SDM Chaupal Hemchand Verma, all the arrangements are being finalized by the administration for the Shand Maha Yagya so that the devotees coming to the Maha Yagya do not face any inconvenience.
