523 MOU signs in  Dharmshala investment meet during BJP tenure : Harshvardhan Chauhan

Himachal Pradesh Government set up 228 industrial units in the state after the Dharmshala investment meet providing employment avenues to 9366 youth. This was replied by the Industry minister Harshvardhan Chauhan who is replying to a query raised by member of Assembly Sudhir Sharma( Dharmshala). Minister said that in the year 2019, a total of 901 investment MoUs were signed under the First Global Investor Meet organized in Dharamshala.  Out of these, 523 investment MoU proposals have been implemented.  So far 228 industries have been established in Himachal. 

He said that during first investment meet about 236 MoUs were signed attracting Rs 13883Cr investment and in the 2nd investment meet as many as 287 MOUs were signed to invest Rs 28196 Cr.  Apart from this, construction work or setting up of plants is going on in 157 industries.  A total of 9366 people have been provided employment in the above industries, in addition to this, in the context of information related to providing employment to Himachali youth, it is submitted that after July 01, 2020, the Ministry of Micro and Small Enterprises, Government of India would register .

For this, the system of self-certification has been started for enterprise registration, in which there is no provision for inspection by the Industries Department at its own level.  Therefore, it is not possible at this stage to collect information about the employment available to the Himachali youth in the industries established under the Investor Meet. 

Raising the query about carrying forward investment Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the minister must inform the house if it is interested in the investment meeting to continue. Replying to a query of Mr Thakur,  Harshvardhan Chauhan state that government coming with an legislation soon to set up the investment bureau under which new investments would be expedite for seeking  permission for setting up a new industry promotely and all the department would be made accountable to provide clearance intime. He said that the New Congress government would continue the investment of new industries like other states.
