395 children learning ice hockey skill in freezing temperature of Kaza

The sleepy tribal Kaza headquarter town of Lahaul Spiti district is currently bustling with creativity in the freezing temperatures as 395 children mostly early tender age vouching to learn the skill of Ice hockey training.
Sakaljung Dorje , Incharge of Youth and Sports Services Department Kaza informed a ice camp was organised to hone the smarting skills of children as the camp would last till Dec 24.
“This time record 395 children have been registered in the camp compared to last year. The camp is divided into three categories include Beginner, Basic, and Advanced categories. ” he informed.
“The minimum temperature was keeping at minus 17 to minus 20 degrees but children are busy skating with their pairs of skatters on the 15 cm thick ice layer. “
 Children in different groups in the camp was learning skating skill and basics of ice hockey from national coach Amit Belbal.
Kaza is hosting National Women’s Ice Hockey with effect from 25th December,  soonafter this camp would over.
National Women’s Ice Hockey Championship 2022 is also schedule to be held here on 16 January.    
The large number of registration in Spiti indicating that the children are keen to learn ice hockey which would help to give new dimension and flip in their physical education.
The natural Ice-skating Rink was developed last years are became Maka of adventurous sports enthusiasts as Spiti valley could host number of session for Ice Skating activities for three to four months in the future this facility could prepare many national and international players from here.

In the National Ice Hockey championship as many as  80 players going to participate in the event who would join high altitude National Development Camp starting from 25th December.
 ADM Kaza Mohan Dutt said that from 16 January 2022 to 20 January 2022, five to seven teams are expected to take part in the national competition. Each team would have 22 players.  
Along with this there will also be ten official ones.  There will be two to three matches daily in the competition. 

Players like Hyderabad, Leh, Chandigarh, Delhi Mumbai Himachal etc. will participate in the camp.
Kaza is smay suburbs and it is challenging event for district administration to host the event in the extreme winter as Mercury remained freeze to minus 20 degrees. Kaza major habitation were night temperature fell to recorded low however, the town linked with road Communication from Gramphu to Kaza and also linked with Kaza to Tabo-Nako and Kalpa road with Kinnuar district.Currently Gramphu Kaza road is snowbound.
