17 Panchayats of Mashobra and Tutu were honored for being declared TB free : Anmolraj Kaundal

Under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, 17 Gram Panchayats of Mashobra and Tutu Health Blocks in Shimla district have achieved remarkable success in TB elimination. Following the verification process by the District TB Team, these Panchayats were awarded certificates along with gold, silver and bronze medals for being declared TB-free at a simple function held at CHC Mashobra and Tutu.
Senior Health Department supervisor Anmolraj Koundal stated that special emphasis was placed on TB identification, treatment, drug sensitivity testing, and effective implementation of the Nikshay Poshan Yojana in these panchayats. ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, health workers, and panchayat representatives played a crucial role in the campaign’s success.
He said that 11 panchayats of the Tutu health block achieved success in this campaign. Chhalog, Janol, Kot, and Pahal panchayats were awarded gold medals, while Anandpur panchayat won silver. Bainsh, Bhaloh, Ghandal, Mayali, Okhru, and Shamlaghat panchayats were awarded bronze medals.
Meanwhile, six panchayats in the Mashobra block also performed well in the TB eradication effort. Patgehar Panchayat received a silver medal, while Balog, Ghad Kadheri (Bharandi), Moolkoti, Peeran, and Satlai Panchayats received bronze medals.
Anmolraj Kaundal described this achievement as a significant step towards the goal of a TB-free Himachal. He explained that continuous monitoring at the Panchayat level, timely testing, regular treatment of patients, and community participation are strengthening the TB eradication campaign.
