Seven accused arrested for misbehaving with Tehsildar : Narayan Verma

The Himachal Pradesh Revenue Officers Association has expressed gratitude to the government for the arrest of seven accused in the case of misbehavior with the Tehsildar at the Dussehra fair in Kullu. Consequently, the association has withdrawn its pen-down strike, and work resumed normally at all tehsil and sub-tehsil offices on Tuesday. Narayan Singh Verma, President of the Himachal Pradesh Revenue Officers Association and Tehsildar Junga, stated that in addition to the seven accused arrested, the police are identifying other accused.
Union President Narayan Verma stated that on October 13th, a pen-down strike was observed in all 130 tehsils, 80 sub-tehsil headquarters, and 11 district revenue offices across the state, paralyzing government work. During this period, no land registrations, certificates, or other tehsil-related work took place. He explained that revenue officers in remote areas of the state, in addition to revenue duties, perform various other duties, including disaster management, court work, VIP duty, and law and order maintenance, without any facilities. He stated that the public abuse and assault of the tehsildar during Kullu Dussehra has lowered the morale of revenue officers in the state. He demanded that the government provide security to revenue officers while on duty so that they can perform their duties without fear.
He said that the union had effectively raised this serious issue with the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home and DGP due to which the police had to take action.
