44 per cent deficient rain in August 2021

In the month of August Himachal Pradesh saw forty four per cent deficient rain which is lowest in last twelve years.
Shimla Met Office releasing the detail rain in the month of August in this monsoon said that the month of this month (1st August to 31st August) has  146.5 mm with departure from normal rainfall (262.3 mm) of  minus 44 p c.
State had average 146.5 nn rainfall in the month against 262.3 mm .
Highest rainfall in the month of August viz 324.3mm (24 p c) was recorded in HP during 
August-2019.
In month of August in 2005 state recorded minus 66 per cent (deficient) rainfall. In August 2009 state recorded minus 52 pc.
During August-2021 district Mandi received Normal rainfall.
Chamba(minus 64 pc), Lahul-spiti(minus 92 p c) &Sirmaur(minus 62 pc) received large Deficient rainfall and other eight districts received deficient rainfall.
 Solan (minus 38 pc), Una(minus 52 pc ) and Kangra( minus 45 pc ) received Large deficient rainfall.

 Shimla(minus 37 pc), Hamirpur(minus 33 pc) and Bilaspur( minus 36 pc) received deficient rainfall. 
District Kinnaur(minus 31 p c), Kullu( minus 40 pc ) deficient rainfall.
Total numbers of two active wet spells of monsoon currents arrived in Himachal Pradesh which gave light to moderate rainfall over most of the days
Total rainy days over the state were 29 days in the month August 2021.
Heavy rainfall occurred on 5th ,7th,8th,9th 10th ,13th 14th 20th,21st,22nd 27th ,28th, 31st in the month August 2021.
Highest Maximum Temperature of 36.8  degree Celsius was recorded at Una on Aug 17, 2021.
