Lions Club Shimla Brings Food and Hope to Kamla Nehru Hospital
Sometimes, a warm meal is more than just food. It is comfort, dignity, and a reminder that someone cares. That was the spirit behind Lions Club Shimla’s Food for Hunger Project at Kamla Nehru Hospital—a heartfelt continuation of its mission to fight hunger and bring relief to those in need.
Lion Man Mohan Verma, Area Leader of Lions International District 321 A2, said the “Food for Hunger” initiative aims to make sure no one in the community goes to bed hungry. But he stressed that the project is about much more than filling empty stomachs.
“Food is a basic right, not a privilege,” he said. “By providing nourishment, we are also offering hope and strength to families facing tough times. A simple meal can make all the difference when someone is struggling.”
Project Chairperson Lion C L Sankhyan shared that Lions members and volunteers personally served nutritious meals to patients and their tired caregivers. More than 400 people benefited from this thoughtful gesture.
The occasion saw Lions Club members serving with full hearts. Those present included Lion Man Mohan Verma, Area Leader; Project Chairperson Lion C L Sankhyan; Zone Chairpersons Lion Gopal Vaid, Lion Vimal Sood, Lion K. D. Chandel, and Lion Vikram; along with the Lion ladies.
