Asha workers should make people aware about the diseases spreading in the rainy season in rural areas : Dr. Manoj Verma

A regional-level meeting of ASHA workers was held at Civil Hospital Junga on Saturday, chaired by Medical Officer Dr. Manoj Verma. Speaking on the occasion, he said that ASHA workers are playing a vital role in delivering various health schemes of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh to every household, thereby strengthening health services in rural areas.
Dr. Manoj Verma instructed ASHA workers to raise awareness about diseases spread by filth during the rainy season. He specifically emphasized the importance of spreading information about the symptoms and prevention measures for diarrhea, scrub typhus, cholera, and other infectious diseases.
He said that people should always drink boiled or clean water, avoid raw or overripe fruits, and maintain personal hygiene. He also urged the public to be informed about government schemes for jaundice, diabetes, vaccination, high blood pressure, and especially for tuberculosis (TB) eradication.
Dr. Verma asked the Asha workers to also make people aware about the importance of regular cleaning of water tanks, chlorination of drinking water and adding bleaching powder to water from time to time, so that prevention of waterborne diseases can be ensured.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Divya Verma, Medical Officer of Primary Health Centre Tri, Rani Thakur, Community Health Officer (CHO) of WB Health Sub Centre and Asha workers from various health institutions.
