Temple Donation Theft Must Be Probed Independently: Rathore Seeks Supreme Court-Monitored Investigation

Congress leader and Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore on Friday alleged that the investigation into the alleged theft of donations meant for the Ayodhya Ram Temple is being deliberately diverted to protect influential individuals. He claimed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was focusing on a single person while overlooking those who may have played a larger role in the case.

Speaking at a press conference at the Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, Rathore said the issue transcends political boundaries and concerns the faith of millions of devotees across the country. He called for an impartial probe supervised by a Supreme Court judge to ensure transparency and accountability.

According to Rathore, the alleged misuse of funds associated with the Ram Temple has raised serious questions. He argued that given the high-security arrangements surrounding the temple premises, the reported theft of donations warrants a thorough and credible investigation. He also questioned why no significant action had been taken against senior figures associated with the temple trust.

The Congress leader further accused the BJP of using the Ram Temple project and its inauguration for political purposes. He alleged that the temple’s foundation stone laying and inauguration were expedited to influence public sentiment ahead of national elections.

Drawing comparisons with previous governments, Rathore claimed that if a similar incident had occurred under another political regime, the BJP would have strongly protested and demanded accountability. He also alleged that central investigative agencies were being misused to target opposition leaders through politically motivated cases.

Reiterating his demand for a judicial probe, Rathore said an independent investigation was essential to uncover the truth and restore public trust. He maintained that the alleged misappropriation of temple donations represented a betrayal of the faith of countless devotees.

Congress Vice President Amit Nanda, Himuda Vice Chairman Yashwant Chajta, Shimla Rural Congress President Harikrishna Himral, and Congress Secretary Pradeep Surya were also present at the press conference.
