Alliance Air to Resume Delhi–Shimla Flights, Dharamshala Service Also Set to Take Off

In a boost to air connectivity and tourism in Himachal Pradesh, Alliance Air Aviation Limited is all set to resume its Delhi–Shimla–Delhi flight service from May 10, 2026. The move comes as part of the state government’s continued efforts to improve regional connectivity and support tourism-driven economic growth.

The Delhi–Shimla flight will operate six days a week — Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the flight will depart Delhi at 7:20 am and reach Shimla at 8:35 am, while the return flight will take off from Shimla at 11:30 am and arrive in Delhi at 12:40 pm.
On Saturdays, the flight will leave Delhi at 7:50 am and land in Shimla at 9:05 am, with the return trip from Shimla scheduled at 12:00 noon, reaching Delhi at 1:10 pm.
On Sundays, passengers can catch an early flight departing Delhi at 6:20 am and arriving in Shimla at 7:35 am, with the return leg leaving Shimla at 8:00 am and reaching Delhi at 9:10 am.

In another significant development, Shimla–Dharamshala–Shimla flight services will begin from May 11, 2026. These flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, strengthening intra-state air connectivity.
On weekdays, the flight will depart Shimla at 9:00 am and reach Dharamshala at 9:50 am, before returning from Dharamshala at 10:15 am and landing in Shimla at 11:05 am.
On Saturdays, the flight will take off from Shimla at 9:30 am and arrive in Dharamshala at 10:20 am, with the return scheduled at 10:45 am, reaching Shimla at 11:35 am.

The new flight schedules are expected to make travel within Himachal Pradesh and between the state and the national capital faster and more convenient. Tourism stakeholders believe this improved connectivity will encourage more visitors, especially during peak seasons, while also easing travel for locals and business travellers.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state government remains fully committed to promoting tourism and strengthening regional connectivity. He noted that better air services would significantly benefit tourism as well as business activities across Himachal Pradesh.

“These flight services will offer safer, faster and more comfortable travel options for residents and tourists alike,” the Chief Minister said, adding that enhanced air connectivity would play a key role in unlocking the state’s tourism potential and supporting overall economic growth.
