Tragic accident in Devamanal: Two brothers drowned in a ravine, entire area mourned

A heartbreaking incident in Devamanal, a village panchayat in the Nauhradhar region, has plunged the entire area into deep shock. Two innocent brothers, 8-year-old Aryan and 9-year-old Abhinav, tragically drowned in a ravine. The entire village is in mourning, and the family is inconsolable.

Local resident and social worker Vijay Singh Pundir said that the deceased children’s father, Praveen Kumar, had gone to the forest to graze his cattle as usual. This afternoon, he had taken his two children with him. The forest is not far from their home, and the children were playing on the edge of a ravine as usual.

He said that preliminary estimates indicate that the younger son, Ayan, slipped and fell into the ravine. To save his younger brother, the elder brother, Abhinav, also jumped into the water. It is reported that Abhinav was unable to speak or hear, making it impossible for him to call out to anyone. In no time, both children drowned.

When the children’s father returned from gathering the animals, he could not find the two children nearby. After searching for some time, he found them floating in the water. He then informed the villagers. The villagers immediately took the two children to Nohradhar Hospital with the help of the 108 ambulance, but by then it was too late and doctors declared them dead.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the administration swung into action. Tehsildar Nohradhar arrived at the scene and provided immediate relief of 25,000 rupees each to the affected family. The bodies of both children were brought to Civil Hospital Rajgarh for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, former Assembly Speaker Gangaram Musafir also visited the hospital and met with the bereaved family to express his condolences. He assured the family of all possible assistance. DSP Rajgarh VC Negi and Tehsildar Rajgarh also arrived at the scene and inquired about the incident. After the post-mortem examination was completed, the bodies of both children were handed over to their families.

After this tragic accident, a wave of mourning has spread across the entire Nohardhar area including Devamanal.
