HRTC Sub Depot Rajgarh should increase the fleet of buses or remove the board of the sub depot

After the sub-depot was built, the number of buses reduced from 13 to only 10

If the state government cannot increase the bus fleet and create other basic facilities at the HRTC sub-depot in Rajgarh, the board of the sub-depot should be removed immediately. This demand has been made by Ramkumar Sharma, Desraj Thakur, Ravindra Singh Chauhan, and Lekhram Sharma, among many others in the Rajgarh area. People say that before the HRTC sub-depot was built, Rajgarh operated a total of 13 buses and over 30 bus routes. The situation is that after the sub-depot was built, instead of increasing the bus fleet, the number of buses has decreased from 13 to just 10, and the number of bus routes has now reduced from 30 to only 20.
It’s worth noting that in 2018, during his visit to Rajgarh, former BJP Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced the opening of an HRTC sub-depot. Former Pachhad MLA and current Lok Sabha MP Suresh Kashyap inaugurated the sub-depot on February 27, 2019, by hoisting a signboard. Nearly eight years after the inauguration, the sub-depot’s standards remain unchanged. The sub-depot employs only a single bus stand in-charge. There is no mechanic for minor repairs. According to the bus stand in-charge, minor bus repairs are now performed at private workshops. Pachhad MLA Reena Kashyap has been raising this issue in the Assembly for several years, but to date, no improvement has been made at the sub-depot.
It should be noted that all these depots fall under the jurisdiction of the HRTC Regional Office in Solan. Most importantly, no long-distance buses operate from these depots. For years, residents have been demanding direct bus service to Haridwar, Azadpur Mandi, Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, and IGMC Shimla. However, no government has taken this legitimate demand seriously, leading to widespread resentment. Residents reported that the number of private buses in the Rajgarh area is increasing, while those of the HRTC are decreasing. Locals reported that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur of the former BJP government had made numerous announcements, including the construction of a mini secretariat, a parking lot for the Nagar Panchayat, and a 100-bed hospital, none of which have been fulfilled to date.
HRTC Solan Regional Manager Surendra Rajput said that the HRTC routes in Rajgarh are also incurring losses. The corporation’s buses are mostly used by school children. Long-distance buses could also be operated based on public demand.
