SFI demands justice for Siya Guleria

SFI Himachal Pradesh expresses profound grief and strongly condemns the daylight murder of 19-year-old student and SFI activist Siya Guleriya in Gopalpur, Sarkaghat.

Siya Guleriya, a resident of Nain village in Sarkaghat and a first-year BBA student, was on her way to take an exam. On the way, she was attacked and brutally murdered by two bike-borne assailants. This incident is extremely painful and clearly reflects the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. The SFI HPU Committee condemns this heinous crime in the strongest terms and demands that the Himachal Pradesh government ensure the immediate arrest of all those involved in this incident and that they receive the strictest punishment. It has also come to light that the murderer was under the influence of alcohol and heroin, highlighting the severity of the growing drug problem in the state.

SFI firmly believes that the spreading drug menace in Himachal Pradesh is not just a law and order issue but a deep-seated socio-economic and political problem. Unemployment, rising despair among youth, and a lax approach towards the drug trade have collectively aggravated this issue. The drug mafia is openly destroying the future of young people. SFI has long been demanding strict action against the drug mafia in the state, increased employment and educational opportunities for youth, and a large-scale public awareness campaign against drugs.

We express our deepest condolences to the family of Siya Guleriya and stand in solidarity with them during this hour of grief. SFI is committed to carrying forward the fight for justice in this case to its conclusion.
