Budget of Resilience: Himachal Leaders Applaud Sukhu’s Vision Amid Financial Strain

Despite facing a massive financial setback of nearly ₹10,000 crore due to reduced central grants, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has presented a state budget that ministers are calling both visionary and people-centric.

Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil praised the historic ₹3,000 crore allocation for health infrastructure, highlighting increased stipends for medical residents and a strong push toward digital healthcare. He emphasized that even in tough times, the government is ensuring quality medical services reach the remotest corners of Himachal Pradesh.

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi lauded the budget’s focus on digitizing land records and simplifying mutation processes, saying it will ease burdens for ordinary citizens. He also welcomed the hike in honorarium for Revenue Chowkidars, underscoring the government’s sensitivity toward grassroots workers.

Both ministers commended the Chief Minister’s emphasis on youth empowerment, job creation, and transparent governance. With provisions for large-scale recruitment and 4 lakh man-days of employment initiatives, they believe the budget lays the foundation for a “Self-Reliant Himachal.”

In their words, this is not just a financial document—it’s a roadmap for resilience, progress, and hope.
