Himachal was neither given any scheme for tourism nor for horticulture or agriculture : Vinay Kumar
State Congress President Vinay Kumar, while attacking the Union Budget sharply, said that this time the Central Government has only performed a formality in the name of the budget, there is neither any benefit to any section nor any relief to anyone. The budget has neither any direction nor any condition. He said that the fight will be fought at every level against the blow that the Central Government has dealt to Himachal Pradesh in this budget. The state is not demanding any charity from the Centre but its rights. He said that the state had expected that the Centre would give something for disaster relief. The state has not received even the Prime Minister’s amount of Rs. 1500 crore till date.
Addressing a press conference at the state Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, Vinay Kumar took a strong stand on the discontinuation of the revenue deficit grant and said that hill states like Himachal have been grossly neglected in this budget. Referring to Himachal, he said that this time the state was neither given any scheme for tourism development nor for horticulture and agriculture. Nothing was given for the development of hydroelectric projects either. The central government’s policies have already created a crisis for the horticulture economy worth Rs 5,000 crore. This time too, only disappointment has been meted out in the name of rail expansion. The Bilaspur-Bhanupali rail line has been hanging in the balance for the last several years. He said that injustice towards the state will not be tolerated.
Vinay Kumar said that no matter how many obstacles the central government creates, the state government will not waver from its path. He said that the state’s Congress government is protecting its employees.
OPS will continue.
Vinay Kumar criticized all the BJP MPs elected from the state, saying they have no concern for the state. The people of the state will never forgive these leaders.
