Vinay Kumar has called on young intellectuals to come forward to protect the country’s democracy and Constitution
State Congress President Vinay Kumar has called on young intellectuals to come forward to protect the country’s democracy and Constitution. He said that to strengthen democracy, they must come forward and call wrong a wrong and right a right.
Speaking with delegates from various states’ student parliaments, including students from IITs, IIMs, and NLUs, who had come to meet him at Rajiv Bhavan, the state Congress headquarters, Vinay Kumar said that knowledge of their history is essential for their present and future. They should be aware of how the country gained independence and the progress it has made.
All India Congress Committee Secretary and co-incharge of state affairs, Vidit Chaudhary, also responded to a question about privatization of students in this dialogue, saying that while Congress is not opposed to privatization, it opposes the hasty way in which the country’s assets are being sold to a few individuals. He said that this is increasing unemployment in the country, which is a matter of great concern.
During the conversation, former Youth Congress General Secretary Vinod Zinta suggested the students read the book “Discovery of India,” saying it provides a comprehensive account of the country’s history. He added that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar guaranteed equal rights to all citizens in the Constitution. He added that his vision has propelled the country forward, but sadly, the central government is currently working to undermine it.
