Congress to stage protest outside DC office for renaming and weakening of MNREGA

Under the leadership of State Congress President Vinay Kumar, the Congress will hold a protest outside the Shimla Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday, December 22, to protest the central BJP government’s renaming of MNREGA and the weakening of its original purpose. State Congress leaders and party workers, including co-incharges for state affairs Chetan Chauhan and Vidit Chaudhary, will participate in the protest.
State Congress President Vinay Kumar has asked all the leaders, former PCC and district blocks, all the leaders of leading organizations, including all the councillors and former councillors of Shimla Municipal Corporation to participate in this protest.
Vinay Kumar has strongly criticized the Central Government for changing the name of MNREGA, an ambitious scheme started by the previous Congress government in the name of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi for the poor and laborers living in rural areas, saying that by changing its name, the Central Government has not only insulted the name of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi but has also weakened it.
Vinay Kumar stated that the BJP, as part of a deliberate political strategy, is depriving the rural poor and the destitute of the Right to Work Act. He called on the people of the state to strongly oppose this new bill, stating that the Congress party will never back down from its fight for the rights of the poor and destitute.
