Congress Reshuffles in Himachal: New Observers Take Charge of District Committees
The Congress party has set the stage for a major organisational shake-up in Himachal Pradesh. On Saturday, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) rolled out fresh appointments, naming district-wise observers to oversee the crucial selection of District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents under its ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.
Signed by AICC in-charge Rajani Patil, the order immediately places new oversight teams across all 12 districts. From Chamba, where Gokul Butail, Devinder Jaggi and Saurav Chauhan will lead, to Kangra, now under the watch of Asha Kumar, Vikender Dharmani and Devender Negi, the reshuffle signals the party’s intent to tighten grassroots organisation.
Other districts have also seen senior leaders step in:
- Lahaul–Spiti: Devinder Shyam, Vikas Kapoor, Rohit Vats Dhami
- Kullu: Kaul Singh Thakur, Ramesh Chauhan, Chandershekhar Sharma
- Mandi: Ram Lal Thakur, Maheshwar Chauhan, Rajiv Kimta
- Hamirpur: Naresh Chauhan, Satpal Rajjada, Jiwan Thakur
- Una: Prakesh Chaudhary, Ajay Mahajan, Vivek Kumar
- Bilaspur: Sunil Sharma, Champa Thakur, Amit Bharmouri
- Solan: Kirmesh Jung, Adarsh Sood, Satya Jeet Negi
- Sirmaur: Ritesh Kaprete, Sohan Lal, Surender Sethi
- Shimla: Ganga Ram Masafir, Shashi Thakur, Prem Kaushal
- Kinnaur: Kehar Singh Khachi, Chander Prabha Negi, Mahender Stan
Party insiders say these observers will soon begin ground-level consultations to finalise DCC presidents, a move seen as critical ahead of upcoming political cycles.
Adding to the buzz, sources suggest that the announcement of a new Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief may not be far off—hinting at deeper changes in the state organisation.
This reshuffle isn’t just paperwork; it’s a signal that the Congress is gearing up for a fresh start in Himachal, with new faces steering the grassroots machinery.
