Caste census in the country a victory of the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi
The State Tribal Congress has called the decision of the Central BJP government to conduct caste census in the country a victory of the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and has demanded the Central Government to start the caste census immediately. He has said that a time limit should be set to complete this work.
State Tribal Congress Executive President Sher Singh Negi said here today that his leader Rahul Gandhi had been demanding caste census in the country for a long time, but the current BJP government was ignoring this demand. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi used to give an absurd argument on this demand and said that women, youth, poor and farmers are the only four castes, but when Rahul Gandhi campaigned for caste census at the grassroots level across the country, the Modi government was forced to conduct this census.
He said that Telangana has proved to be a good model for caste census. He said that such questions should be asked in the census which will bring out the reality and tell us how much participation Dalits, OBCs and Adivasis have in the institutions and power structure of the country.
Sher Singh Negi said that the Congress party had clearly written in its manifesto that reservation should be implemented in private educational institutions under Article 15(5). He said that there are no Dalit, OBC and tribal people in the management or top positions in the corporate sector. This clearly shows that India does not have 90 percent reserved share. He said that if you look at the list of gig workers, you will find only people from Dalit, OBC and tribal communities in it.
Sher Singh Negi thanked the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his campaign for caste census in the country and said that after the caste census, the neglected class in the country will get their rights and justice will be done to them.
