Government and society need to fight together against drugs: Bindal

BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal said that the increasing trend towards drug addiction in Himachal Pradesh is extremely dangerous and it seems that Himachal Pradesh is headed towards a huge loss from the point of view of the youth.

According to a report a few days ago, two lakh people in Himachal are affected by drug addiction. This is a very big number. The fact that three and a half percent people in Himachal Pradesh are indulging in such drugs gives a serious signal and we need to show seriousness about it.

From where are drugs entering Himachal Pradesh and where are they being served? Who is its businessman? It has become very necessary and important to expose this and find them. He said that it is the responsibility of the government and the society to protect and keep the coming generations away from this poison. It is our duty to keep an eye on children and keep them away from drugs. He said that the society will have to change the outlook of children and attract them towards sports, studies and religious schemes.

He said that there was talk of Udta Punjab but if there is truth in these figures then it should not be that Himachal Pradesh overtakes Punjab. Due to intoxication, law and order deteriorates and thus crimes take place in Himachal Pradesh. We all need to be alert and fix this together. During this time, more than 1700 drug addiction cases have been reported in Himachal Pradesh, which is alarming. The government should actively attack drugs.
