Chief Minister Sukhu to provide 2-3 Biswa of land for housing facilities to landless orphan children
MLAs Kewal Singh Pathania, Bhuvaneshwar Gaur and Ajay Solanki said that the state government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was making dedicated efforts for the welfare of every section of the society. The launch of Chief Minister Sukh-Ashraya Yojana is a hallmark of this.
In a press statement issued here today, the trio, on behalf of the people of the state, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for launching such a remarkable scheme.
They said that by this, Himachal became the first State in the country to enact a law for the benefit of the orphan children and other vulnerable sections. This scheme reflects the vision of the Chief Minister to uplift the downtrodden, his deep understanding of their sorrow and sufferings and his ability to take sensitive and logical decisions for their welfare.
Kewal Singh Pathania, Bhuvaneshwar Gaur and Ajay Solanki said that the Chief Minister Sukh-Ashraya Yojana has paved the way for assured assistance from the government to orphans and specially abled children, destitute women and elderly people.
By adopting orphan children, the state government has not only given them the status of ‘Children of the State’ but has also guaranteed their bright and secure future.
This scheme ensures basic and vocational education to such helpless children, while it will also create employment and self-employment opportunities for them, said the MLAs.
The Chief Minister has also made a provision to improve the living standard of orphans and other deprived sections through this scheme, the trio stated.
In the first phase, the state government successfully provided support to the eligible children by transferring the financial benefits worth about Rs. 5.68 crores.
The decision to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs. 4000 to the newly identified children under the scheme till they complete 27 years of age is a commendable step.
About 2700 children living with their relatives will also benefit from this. This will not only provide financial security to these children but will also motivate them to become self-reliant.
The trio said that every need of these children, from living, education and training to providing them clothing grants, has been taken care of under this scheme.
The decision of the Chief Minister to provide two to three Biswa land for housing facilities to landless orphan children is commendable as well.
