Highlights for the FY 2022-23

• SJVN recorded the highest ever revenue of Rs. 3299 Crores in FY 2022-23 that was Rs. 2626 Crores in the previous year 2021-22. (an increase of 25.62%).
• The Profit After Tax (PAT) recorded in FY 2022-23 is Rs.1363.45 crores against Rs. 977.52 crores in FY 2021-22. (an increase of 39.48%).
• SJVN recorded Profit Before Tax of Rs 1732.13 crores in comparison to Rs.1343.44 Crores during FY 2021-22. (an increase of 28.93%) Earnings Per Share (EPS) affirmed at Rs 3.47 from Rs 2.49 per share in 2021-22.
• SJVN has declared a dividend of Rs 1.77 per share for 2022-23.
• Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station attained the utmost PAF of 106.653%.
• Charanka SPS has attained the utmost Annual Generation of 8.75 MU in FY 2022-23.
• The standalone revenue from operation increased to Rs. 2935.41 crores during the FY 2022-23 as compared to 2421.96 crore during FY 2021-22. (an increase of 21.19%).
• The total earning from Deviation Settlement Mechanism during 2022-23 is Rs 43.63 crores, which is recorded as the Second Highest in the last 5 years.
• Exceeding the total Design Energy of 8705 Million Units our Power Stations generated 9335 Million Units of energy i.e. the third highest generation ever achieved by SJVN in FY 2022-23.
• Corporate Head Quarters of SJVN “Shakti Sadan” has been rated Four Star by Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment “GRIHA” Council ON 24 th June, 2022.
• The total generation documented from all operational Power Stations for the Q3 and Q4 of FY 2022-23 is 863 MU and 1407 MU respectively i.e. the Second highest for the respective Quarter.
• Trade Receivables during the FY 2022-23 is 35 days against the MOU target of 45 days which indicates to the best ever performance of SJVN till date.
• SJVN’s two flagship Hydro Power Stations in Himachal Pradesh made a new record by showing all-time high record of 50.534 MU in Single-Day power generation on 18 th July 2023.
• SJVN signed Power Purchase Agreements for 200 MW Solar Power Project Capacity with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited and with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited for 100 MW Wind Power Capacity in this year. Power Usage Agreement for supply of 500 MW Solar power from ongoing 1000 MW Bikaner SPP has been signed with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited.
• In FY 2022-23, SJVN has incurred total amount of Rs.59.84 crores on CSR activities which is Rs. 23.38 crores more than the statutory obligation of Rs. 36.46 crores.The current installed capacity of SJVN is 2091.50 MW, including 1912 MW Hydro, 97.6 MW of Wind Power and 81.9 MW of Solar Power. The company also operates one Transmission Line of 86 km length while another one of 217 Km from Arun-3 HEP in Nepal to Bathnaha on the Nepal-
• India border is under construction.
• Surpassing all its previous records SJVN has achieved Record CAPEX of Rs. 8,240 crores during the year.
• SJVN has achieved ISO 31000:2018 certification for implementation of Risk Management System in November 2022 which makes it the the First CPSE to implement ISO 31000:2018 for Risk Management System on 25 th November, 2022.

 Highlights for the First & Second Quarter of 2023-24

  SJVN has become the fourth Renewable Energy Implementing Agencies (REIAs) in addition to
SECI, NTPC and NHPC on 6 th April 2023.
 SJVN has been awarded the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) Certification by
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) becoming the first PSU in Power sector to have attained
this certificate on 13 th September, 2023.

11 th April 2022 SJVN signed an MOU with REMC Limited and BHEL for Development of

Renewable Energy Projects for Indian Railway.

16 th May 2022 SJVN signed an MOU for development of 490 MW Arun-4 HEP in Nepal in the
benign presence of Prime Minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi and Prime Minister
of Nepal Sh. Sher Bahadur Deuba.

SJVN signed an MOU with the Government of Rajasthan for developing 10 GW
renewable energy projects/parks in the state of Rajasthan.

18 th October
2022

SJVN signed an MOU through its wholly owned subsidiary SGEL and APDCL at
Guwahati for developing 1000 MW Floating Solar Power Projects in Assam by
incorporating a JV Company.

15 th March 2023 SJVN signed an MoU with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for formation of
Joint Venture (JV) for development of Renewable Energy Projects, which includes

ABOUT SJVN
New Mission of 12000 MW by 2026

Shared Vision of 25000 MW by 2030 & 50000 MW by 2040

SJVN Limited is a Central Power Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, Government of India,
was incorporated on 24th May 1988 as a joint venture between Government of India and Government of
Himachal Pradesh. The Company got listed in the stock exchanges in 2010; the Government of India holds
55% shares, Government of Himachal Pradesh 26.85% shares and the remaining 18.15 % shares are held
by the public. The current paid up capital of SJVN is Rs. 3929.80 crores, while the authorized capital is Rs.
7000 crores
Since its incorporation, SJVN commenced to construct the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Electric Project
on Satluj River in Himachal Pradesh. This Hydro Power Station with India’s largest underground Power
House was commissioned in 2003-04. Since then, SJVN has commissioned six more Power Stations which
include the 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh, the 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power
Station in Maharashtra, the 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Station in Gujarat, the 50 MW Sadla Wind
Power Station in Gujarat, 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh and 1.31 MW Grid
connected Solar Power Station and & 310 KW Grid Connected Solar Power Plant in Himachal Pradesh. On
27 th September 2023, the Mechanical Spinning of Unit-1 of 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric
Project was successfully conducted at Mori, Uttarakhand.
SJVN started out with a single project operation in one state, but today is implementing Power Projects Pan
India and has also made an international foray by implementing projects in the neighboring country viz.
Nepal. The current installed capacity of SJVN is 2091.50 MW. Besides, one transmission line of 86 km
length another 217 Km from Arun-3 HEP transmission line is under construction while the company has
signed agreement for transmission lines for 210 MW Luhri HEP and 66 MW Dhaulasidh HEP in Himachal
Pradesh.
At present, Total Project Portfolio of SJVN comprising 85 projects & 3 Transmission Lines is 58144
MW, out of which 2091.5 is under operation and rest of the projects are under various stages of
development.

SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd. (SAPDC) – Fully owned subsidiary incorporated in
Nepal for implementation of 900 MW Arun-3 Project in Nepal.

JOINT VENTURES
Cross Border Power Transmission Company Limited (CPTC) – To construct and maintain 86km long,
Twin Moose, 400 kV D/C Transmission Line from Muzaffarpur to Nepal connection point and a bay
extension at Muzaffarpur Sub Station.
PROJECTS UNDER OPERATION
1) 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station
It is the largest underground Power Station in India that is fully operational since May 2004. The Design
Energy of NJHPS is 6612 million units per year. NJHPS is India’s largest underground hydro – electric
power station with 1500 MW generation capacity.
2) 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station
It is SJVN’s second operating hydro power station and as a cascade plant operates in tandem with Nathpa
Jhakri Power Station. The Design Energy of 412 MW Rampur HPS is 1878 Million Units.
3) 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Station
It is the SJVN’s first Wind Power Station of 47.6 MW capacity in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The Station
was commissioned in 2014 and is providing 47.6 MW of electricity to the Maharashtra State Grid.
4) 50 MW Sadla Wind Power Station
It has installed capacity of 50 MW and is in Sadla, Gujarat. It is SJVN’s second wind power Station. The
Power Purchase Agreement for the project has been signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited
(GUVNL).
5) 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Station
It is SJVN’s first Solar Power Station of 5.6 MW capacity installed in March 2017 at the Charanka Solar
Power Station in Gujarat.
6) 1.31 MW Grid Connected Solar Power Station, NJHPS
1 MW Solar Power Plant at Wadhal and 310 KW Solar Power Plant at Surge Shaft of NJHPS have been
installed and commissioned. Both Power Stations are connected to the grid. 
7) 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station
This project of 75 MW situated in Uttar Pradesh has been commissioned on 24 th November, 2022.
8) 400 KV, D/C Cross Border Transmission Line

The work of India portion (CPTC) viz. Muzaffarpur – Sursand Power Transmission Line (86 KM) of 400 KV,
D/C Muzaffarpur -Dhalkebar on the Indo-Nepal Cross Border Power Transmission Line Project is under
operation since Feb 2016.

PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
1) 900 MW Arun-3 HEP
It is located on Arun River in Sankhuwasabha District of Eastern Nepal. The Project is designed to generate
3924 MU energy annually. SJVN bagged the Project through International Competitive Bidding. SJVN Arun-
3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd (SAPDC) was registered on 25.04.2013 under Nepalese
Companies Act, 2063 with an aim to plan, promote and execute the Project.
2) 60 MW Naitwar Mori HEP
This project is located on Tons River, a major tributary of Yamuna in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It is
designed as run-of-the-river Project and has a potential to generate 213 MU energy in a 90% dependable
year. Memorandum of Understanding for execution of Naitwar Mor HEP was signed with the Government of
Uttarakhand (GoUK) on 21.11.2005. On 27 th September 2023, the Mechanical Spinning of Unit-1 of 60
MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project was successfully conducted at Mori, Uttarakhand.
3) 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project
An MOU was signed between SJVN, Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited and Bihar Power
Infrastructure Company for the development of 1320 MW Thermal Power Project at village Chausa in
District Buxar of Bihar on 17.01.2013. SJVN acquired the Project executing Company Buxar Bijlee
Company Private Limited on 04.07.2013. The name of Buxar Bijlee Company Private Limited was changed
to SJVN Thermal Private Limited (STPL), a wholly owned subsidiary company of SJVN Limited on
17.10.2013.
4) 210 MW Luhri HEP STAGE-1
It is a Run-of-the-River scheme with installed capacity of 210 MW, located on river Satluj, near village Nirath
spread over Shimla and Kullu Districts of Himachal Pradesh. The project will generate 758 MU of electric
energy in a 90% dependable year. Financial closure of the project has been achieved on 28.02.2022 and
agreement signed with State Bank of India. EPC package for main Civil & HM works awarded on
24.11.2020 to M/s Luhri Hydro Power Consortium.
5) 66 MW Dhaulasidh HEP
This project with installed capacity of 66 MW is located on river Beas, in Hamirpur and Kangra districts of
Himachal Pradesh. The Project is a run-of-the-river scheme and will generate 304 MU of electric energy in
a 90 dependable year. MOU was signed with Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on 25.09.2019.
6) 382 MW Sunni Dam HEP

It is a run-of-the-river of river type scheme situated on river Satluj near Khaira village in Shimla and Mandi
districts of Himachal Pradesh. The Project will generate 1382 MU of energy in a 90% dependable year. An
MOU was signed with Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on 25.09.2019.
7) 70 MW Bagodra Solar Power Project
It is a project of 70 MW of capacity that was bagged through Open Competitive Bidding conducted by
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited on 26.03.2021.

8) 1000 MW Solar Project under CPSU Scheme
In September 2021, SJVN bagged 1000 MW Solar Project at a tariff of INR 2.45/Unit and a Viability Gap
Funding (VGF) of 44.72 Lakh per MW through competitive bidding under the CPSU Scheme. The EPC was
awarded to M/s TATA Power Solar System Limited.
9) 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Project
SJVN bagged this project through competitive bidding conducted by Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable
Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
10) 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Project
SJVN won this project through competitive bidding conducted by Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy
Development Agency (UPNEDA) bagged 50 MW Solar Power Projects.
11) 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Project
SJVN secured this project through Open Competitive Bidding conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam
Limited (GUVNL) to be developed in Raghanesda Solar Park in Gujarat.
12) 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project
SJVN bagged this project through Open Competitive Bidding conducted by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar United
(RUMSL) at Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh.
13) 100 MW Punjab Solar Project
SJVN bagged 100 MW Floating Solar Project in Punjab through Open Competitive Bidding conducted by
Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL).
14) 15 MW Nangal FSP
This Project of 15 MW floating SPP will be developed in the catchment area of BBMB DAM at Nangal.

FUTURE ENDEAVORS

SJVN has envisaged a New Mission of becoming a 12000 MW company by the Year 2026. It will
enable the company to increase the renewable portfolio by diversifying into Solar, Wind, Hybrid, Floating
Solar, Ocean Hybrid Platforms Pan India. Mostly the opportunities are in the form of Competitive Bidding
processes for Solar, Wind and Hybrid (Solar + Wind) to add projects at rate of 1-1.5 GW per year. In
addition, SJVN is also looking forward for direct allocation of Projects from Government Agencies.

policy in consonance with the Companies Act, 2013 and in line with the Govt. of India’s directives as on

Development of Aspirational District Chamba in Himachal Pradesh under CSR

SJVN on realizing the value and need of having a strong framework has developed and implemented best
governance practices. In the FY 2022-23 SJVN has spent Rs 59.84 crores on Corporate Social
Responsibility verticals. Till date from the time of inception; SJVN has incurred more than 430 crores on
various developmental CSR activities and programs through SJVN Foundation. SJVN provided various
medical items required by the CMO, Chamba and Medical College Chamba to fight against COVID-19 and
spend 39.73 Lakhs issued to DC Chamba as financial support. Rs 100.70 lakh was spent on the Nutrition &
Health Kit for lactating and pregnant women in the district Chamba. To promote education SJVN
constructed 17 primary school buildings situated in 10 blocks of Chamba District with the amount of 295.89
lakhs. Apart from this SJVN with the support of district administration set up 18 libraries in Educational
Block Level with the expenditure of 86.40 lakhs for the help of local youth for the preparation of competitive
exams.
In spite of working in extremely challenging Himalayan Geology, SJVN makes use of the latest modern
technologies in all spheres like getting expert brains to conceptualize, optimize and develop Hydro Power
Projects of any volume. The company lays full emphasis on the execution of projects especially on their
construction stage. The Management is striving to obtain mandatory approvals for Projects that are in Pre-
Construction & Investment Approval stages.
