South West Monsoon arrives in Himachal

Ten day ahead of its normal schedule, South West Monsoon System arrived in the state of Himachal Pradesh and many north Indian state , Met Officer said.
Shimla, Met Office Director Mr Manmohan Singh said that south west monsoon entered in the all part of state on Sunday Including remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh; entire Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar; most parts of East Uttar Pradesh; some parts of West Uttar Pradesh; entire Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan & Muzaffarabad; some parts of north Haryana, Chandigarh and north Punjab.
He said that during last 24 hours, Light to Moderate Rainfall occurred at most places over the state as Kandaghat (Solan):51.6mm, Shahpur (Kangra): 36.5mm , Dalhousie(Chamba) 28.0mm, Una 22 mm.
Last year, Monsoon arrived in the state on 24th June. 
The normal date of Monsoon arrival is 26thJune. 
The Monsoon was arrived earliest in HP before the normal date in the year 2000 on Jun 9.

From 1st June 2021 to 13th June 2021 said  recorded 41.6 mm which is 39 pet cent above normal.
So far, District Sirmour (93 p c), Solan (92 pc), Una(153 pc ), Mandi(65 pc), and Kangra(81 pc )  received Large excess Rainfall.
 District Chamba(47 pc), Shimla(46 pc), Hamirpur(46 pc) and  Bilaspur (35pc) received excess Rainfall. District Kinnaur (minus one p c), Kullu( minus one pc ) Received normal  rainfall
 But Lahaul-Spiti ( minus 79 per cent )received least deficient or scanty rainfall during the period from  1st June to 13th June 2021.
