HP Govt decides to revise pay scale of state employees

Himachal Pradesh Government decided to revised the payscale of state
employees on the recommendation of 5th pay commission  which was would provide RS 7500
Crore fenical benefits to employees.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur who addressed media person after a Joint Coordination Committee
meeting of non-gazetted employees federation at Peterhoff said that state decided to accept most of
demands including revised pay scale which was pending for many years.

He said that state Government could not held JCC meeting with employees due to Covid pandemic
however the State Government appreciate the patience of employees to delay the release of their
revise payscale and due benefits .

The Government would released a detailed press statement over the minutes of  JCC meetings
and demands accepted by the government during the meetings. Terming the meeting cordial and
healthy Chief Minister said that they have employees leaders and decided to provide cumulative
benefits tune to Rs 7500 Crore to them.

Mr Thakur said that employees DA and IRA would be calculated and to be released along with
provision of increase in the payscale.

The Punjab Government already decided to provide the benefits of revised pay commission to the
employees and state followed the pattern of Punjab for recommendation of the payscaleas state did not
have its own pay commission for the calculation of the due pay scales of different categories.

Mr Thakur said that the state Government made provisions of  43 per cent of the state budget for provisions
of salaries,allowances and other annulments and on pensions. He said that the state has made provisions
of RS 500163 Cr for his financial year.

The employees of state and pensioners are demanding the release of their due scales and implementation of pay
commission which is also likely to burden the state tunes of Rs 8000 Cr additional to its consolidated funds .

The State have to provide Rs 41150.40 Crore for the purpose of Salary and pensions of the employee in the next
years . The state have made provisions of Rs 38490 .85 Cr for the disbursement of salaries and other committed liabilities .

State have to pay the rS 12704 Cr on the disbursement of Pay, Rs 7082 Cron Pension and RS 5017 Cr on the
interest payment this year.

The centre government has provided special grant to Rs 533 Cr in 2020-21 and Rs 400 Cr in
2019-20.and helping the state to borrow soft loans
