CM Sukhu visits the Partition Museum in Amritsar

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Partition Museum, a symbol of the sad memories of India-Pakistan partition, in Amritsar today.

The Chief Minister said that it was very difficult to express in words, the sorrow and suffering of the people affected by the partition of India in the year 1947. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while appreciating the efforts to set up the museum, said that these efforts will always inspire the young generations to live together and understand the importance of their loved ones. He also stressed on providing accurate information about history to the coming generations.

He showed keen interest in the documents and objects displayed in the museum and obtained valuable information.

The Partition Museum, established in the year 2017, in the historic Town Hall of Amritsar, is the first museum in the world where the historical documents related to partition have been preserved.

This museum has been established by The Art and Cultural Heritage Trust with the help of the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board.
