ORS packets and zinc tablets distributed to children at Junga Hospital

Under the Intensive Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) campaign, ORS packets and zinc tablets were distributed to children below the age of 5 years at Civil Hospital Junga and the children’s health was also examined. Pediatrician Dr Prashant said that especially children below the age of 5 years have the highest number of deaths due to diarrhoea in the country, and to reduce this to zero, this programme has been started with the courtesy of the Government of India and the State Government. He informed that the IDCF campaign has started on March 16 and will continue across the country till March 30. On this occasion, information will also be given about prevention of various diseases related to children.
Dr. Manoj Verma, in-charge of Civil Hospital Junga, has advised people to drink boiled water, especially children, as children are most likely to suffer from diarrhea and jaundice. He said that bleaching powder must be added to the water tanks of the house from time to time so that there is no possibility of water-borne diseases. Apart from this, do not use items like kulfi, ice cream etc. made from unsterilized water. Dr. Manoj said that under this campaign, ORS packets and zinc tablets will be distributed door to door through Asha workers to children of 05 years of age in the entire Junga tehsil, free of cost.
On this occasion, dentist Dr. Rajesh and counselor of Nayi Disha Center Praveen Kumar were also present.
