Daughter of Himachal shines as successful film producer & director
Daughter of Himachal Smt Renu Negi today shining in the film production as various short films, documentaries, docudrama, promos, advertisements and serials on 95 different themes and subjects are produced and directed by her under the banner of RN Production.
She born and raised in a humble family in a small place in Kinnaur village Dubbling, a tribal district of Himachal Pradesh . Her creative art was stimulated by the orchards, lovely meadows covered with forest and valleys and mountains covered by the thick layer of snow in her childhood.
The fragrance of soil and mountain life left a sound impact on her at very tender age itself as she is gifted with values like diligence, sincerity, integrity and hard work ; moreover the nature stimulated her
creative faculty .
Soon after completing her education she began the journey of film making at a very tender age and made many short films and audio visual production which mostly revolved around the tribal culture, based on the lives of people of Kinnuar, Lahaul Spiti and Chamba districts and many other tribal districts of India.
Exploring lives of the shepherd community known as Gaddi, Gujjar and other nomadic community in the country young produce emphasized on the local orchestra and its musical instruments, her works display the local genres and many languages and dialects.
Renu’s husband is Medical Officer and the couple have two kids . Smt Renu made debut in this film in 1998 as
she joined various ministries of Union Govt to produce the developmental films and serials.
Her work also depicts hard rustic and nomadic lives of people of Uttrakhand, North east Himalayan states she produced various documentaries on the people of tribal region of Madhya Pradesh including Bheel, Gonda,Begga, Bakkas schedule tribe of Uttarakhand etc.
She has produced many documentaries and short films. Her Himachal Tourism commercial promos on General
and Religious tourism which have been displayed on many channels and SRS cinemas .
Recently she has produced a documentary film on ” Home stay in Himachal” , titled “Ghar se door apna ghar”
Besides , many films on HP tribe Lahol & spiti,Pangwala, kinnaura,Gaddi and Gujjers of himachal , Uttranchal Buxas tribe, Madhya pradesh Beel, Gond, Bega tribes and Northeast tribal’s. Her work on Nishi Tribe Serial ” Ek Nishi aurat ki kahani” And “Wapsi “fiction serials and documentaries on Mishmi, Khamti ,
She has vast experience in the audio visual industry as well and has made more than 90 programmes. Currently\her R.N production is also doing science based programmes for India science OTT TV Channels & DD Science. Currently she is working on the Human Genome based production.
Beginning career she made debut with small videos based on the Himachali folk dances which were telecasted on royalty basis by the Doordarshan Delhi . In 1997 she ventured into film productions and made \number of short films, success stories and documentaries related to Himachal Tourism, Art and Culture and on Health issues.
Her production work attracted the Govt of Himachal and short films made by her were screened before an expert committee and state senior officers including renowned film makers Rajiv Mehrotra appreciated her creative work. She has to her credit the recognition for her works at both National as well as International levels. Her being from the tribal background was initially seen as an instrument of undermining her strengths and a lot of dons sneered at her but the resilience and determination paid. Ms. Renu Negi got many offers and produced films on tribal subjects and other social issues.
For her significant contributions in the field, she has been awarded at various levels. She has made more than 95 films on various subjects for National and international for Government / Private Agencies. Despite getting the recognition and acclamation for her films, she continued her sincere effort towards improvising the quality of the films assigned to her.
Recent production of a science program which would be telecast on the DD Science and other small screens. Her continuous zeal for learning and incremental improvement has been instrumental in herwinning two National level award( NSFFI) for her film ” Yak the ship of Mountains “.
She is also empanelled with the various Ministries of Govt of India and other departments to highlight the success stories of developmental schemes and disseminate the information to people to the remotest corner ofthe country.
