Youth upset due to closure of the website for filling forms for the post of Patwari
Online forms for the post of Patwari began in the state on December 12th. Surprisingly, the Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission’s website remained down until December 15th. Hundreds of youth are visiting Rajgarh daily to fill out forms, but the website’s shutdown is causing significant inconvenience. In accordance with the government’s notification, the online form filling process began on December 12th. Crowds of youth are seen at Lok Mitra Kendras or computer centers in Rajgarh. Lok Mitra Kendra operators say that online forms are being filled due to the State Selection Commission’s website being down, resulting in young people returning home disappointed in the evenings after waiting all day for the website to be operational.
On the other hand, youth are deeply upset by the ₹800 fee for online forms. They say that they have never previously charged more than ₹500 for filling out online forms. While lower fees have been charged for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, EWS, dependents of freedom fighters, and ex-servicemen, this time the State Selection Commission is charging ₹800 for all categories. Unemployed youth are blaming Sukhu’s government for the exorbitant fees. They say the State Selection Commission has resumed operations after three years, but has failed to do so. No relief has been provided to any category. Several youth, including Rakesh Kumar, Sanjeev, and Arun, reported that filling out the form costs at least ₹1,500, including bus fare and form fees. This is particularly affecting poor youth.
The youth have demanded from the government that a website should be started for filling the Patwari post and have requested to reduce the fee of Rs 800 being charged for this post.
