Youth Mandal up in arms against NHAI for making Shurala village a dumping ground
The Yuvak Mandal Shurala Gram Panchayat of the Malyana village is protesting against the National Highway Authority for using the area as a dumping ground and posing a threat to an invaluable water source.
The President of Yuvak Mandal Shurala Mr Shubham Sharma said that the decision to make the area a dumping ground is an attempt to destroy the only water source of the village. Yuvak Mandal said that nearly a population of a thousand people and a Nursing College are fed by the only water source. They said that NHAI is building a four-lane road without taking local people into confidence and is also spoiling the environment.
The Youth Mandal has decided to go on a Dharna at the spot along with the Himachal Pradesh Kissan Sabha if the decision to shift the dumping site from Shurala is not taken. Further details are awaited in this matter.
