Youth Congress organized Women’s Honor Day
The Indian Youth Congress celebrated International Women’s Day as Mahila Samman Diwas across the country and Shakti Samman Samaroh was organized for outstanding women in various states. In this series, Himachal Youth Congress organized a state level Mahila Samman Samaroh at Rajiv Bhawan, Shimla. In this ceremony, women who made outstanding contributions in various fields were honored. Through this ceremony organized under the chairmanship of Youth Congress State Vice President Amala Kashyap and Poonam Chopra, an effort was made to get women empowerment and their contribution recognized on a large scale in the society. In the Mahila Shakti Samman Samaroh, various women teachers, doctors, health workers, lawyers, police and home guards, sanitation workers, women from various NGOs, women’s organizations and self-help groups and other women social workers and many outstanding women from Panchayati Raj institutions were honored.
State Congress President Mrs. Pratibha Singh was present as the Chief Guest at the function and along with her, State Youth Congress President Chhatar Thakur and Deputy Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Uma Kaushal attended the event as special guests.
In her address, Congress President Pratibha Singh said that women are the backbone of our society and it is our duty to recognize their contribution. She said that the Congress Party is committed to women empowerment and our workers have always been motivated to work in this direction. On this occasion, Congress Party Chief Pratibha Singh also made women aware of their social and political rights and participation.
Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress Vice President Amla Kashyap and Poonam Chopra also expressed their views on the occasion and said that women are very important for the progress of our society and we must protect their rights. We will continue to work for women empowerment and the Youth Congress organization is always striving to bring positive change in the society. They said that to strengthen the organization’s commitment to women empowerment, the Youth Congress will continue to organize various programs and initiatives which will include programs focused on women education, health, and economic empowerment.
Our goal is for women to achieve equal rights and opportunities in society, and we are committed to working in this direction.
Youth Congress State President Chhatar Thakur said on this occasion that the Congress organization is committed to work in this direction so that women get equal rights and opportunities in the society.
Today, women power and women power need to make a special contribution in uprooting problems like drug addiction which is destroying the youth of the state. Youth Congress will always continue to work for youth and women empowerment.
