World Pulses Day to be celebrated in Himachal on 10 February

A spokesperson of the Agriculture Department said here today that World Pulses Day is being celebrated in the state on February 10, 2024. Under this campaign started to increase awareness among people about the consumption of pulses, this year the theme of World Pulses Day has been kept as ‘Pulses: Nutritious Soil and People’.
He said that effective steps are being taken through the department to encourage the production, consumption and use of pulses in the state. Various pulses including Maash, Moong, Rajmah are grown in the state. These pulses are a source of nutritious and accessible protein and also play an important role in soil health, crop rotation and climate adaptation etc. He said that they also have an important role in promoting sustainable agricultural activities and farmers are being encouraged to produce pulses.
