Workshop organized by Nauni Univerity – Farmers made aware of fruit growth regulators

Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Horticulture and Forestry University, Nauni’s Regional Research and Training Center Mashobra organized a one-day workshop on the role of plant growth regulators on Tuesday. Progressive gardeners from five districts participated in this workshop. In the workshop, university scientists Dr. Neena Chauhan and Dr. Naveen Sharma informed about the research work done by the university on growth regulators. He apprised the participants about the recommendations made by the University regarding PGR.

The chief guest of the workshop, Dr. Sanjeev Chauhan, Director Research, University, emphasized on the use of growth regulators at the right time and in the right quantity with scientific advice so that its side effects can be avoided. A farmer’s scientific discussion was also organized on this occasion in which various topics related to PGR were discussed. On this occasion, experts Dr. PS Chauhan and Dr. JS Chandel discussed the contribution and importance of growth regulators in fruit and plant production and also cleared the doubts related to growth regulators. 

Co-Director of Regional Research and Training Center , Mashobra, Dr. Dinesh Singh Thakur said that this center has been working on growth regulators for the last 43 years. He urged the horticulturists to use growth regulators as per scientific advice. The University has prepared recommendations for gardeners on PGR based on years of research. All the experts urged the gardeners that PGR should be used at the right time and in the right quantity on the basis of the recommendations of the university, so that they can get its full benefit and there is no adverse effect on the crop. About 80 farmers, gardeners , scientists and officers of the department were present on this occasion.
