Women in Jhadech and Ghadot learned tips of natural farming

Special camps were organized under NRHM in village Jhadech and Ghadot of Padhechi Panchayat to give information about natural farming and animal husbandry techniques to women of self-help groups. Women of various self-help groups participated in these camps in large numbers.
On this occasion, Krishi Sakhi Yogmaya Sharma informed the women about Subhash Palekar’s natural farming and explained about the solution of Jeevamrit used in natural farming. She told that no type of chemical fertilizers and medicines are used in natural farming, rather Jeevamrit, Beejamrit etc. should be prepared at home with local materials and sprayed on the crop and use organic fertilizer. The production cost in natural farming is very low and any vegetable or other crop grown with this technique is beneficial for health, whereas crops grown with chemical fertilizers are not useful for human life.
Advising women to practice natural farming, he said that they should use the ingredients and organic fertilizers available at home to do this farming. He said that vegetables grown through natural farming are in great demand in the market and they also fetch good prices.
On this occasion, Pashu Sakhi Meena Rana gave detailed information to the women about the care of dairy animals and the symptoms and remedies of the diseases that affect them. She advised the women to raise good breed dairy cows and said that at present dairy production has become a major source of livelihood for women and currently milk is being sold at a good price at the doorstep.
Secretary of Dhatri Gram Sangathan Sushma Thakur, head of the group Seema, Rama Thakur, Asha, Shakuntala, Leela, Neha and many other women expressed their gratitude for providing practical information on agriculture and animal husbandry. The women who came to both the camps requested to organize such camps from time to time.
