Winners were awarded in the official language and sports prize distribution ceremony at Advance Study

Today at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (Advanced Study), Professor Nageswara Rao, Director of the institute, honored the winners of various sports competitions organized in the institute for the promotion of official language and by giving certificates and prizes. Fellow of the institute Professor Chungkham Yashwant Singh was also specially present on the occasion. Various competitions of official language Hindi were organized under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, on September 14-15, 2022 in Surat (Gujarat) on Hindi Diwas and Hindi Fortnight after participation in the Second All India Official Language Conference. In which the officers and employees of the institute participated with enthusiasm while the internal annual sports competitions of the institute were organized in the month of October last year.

Gurjit Kaur, Private Secretary to Secretary, Hindi Typewriting and Shorthand; Noting/drafting and dictation by Aman Verma, driver; Pritam Singh, Lower Division Clerk Essay and Poetry recitation and Prasad Group’s Participant Public Relations Officer Akhilesh Pathak, Abhishek Dalvi, Section Officer Udyan and Gopal Singh stood first in question-forum competitions. Apart from this, Narendra Chauhan, Section Officer (Estate) essay; Kulbhushan Sharma, Upper Division Clerk Typing; Devendra Singh, cook reciting poetry; Surendra Ramola, office assistant noting; Deepak Sharma, library attendant Ashubhashan and Pant group participants Promila, Bandana, Ranjana, office assistant, Neeraj Sharma, assistant librarian and Naveen Harnot stood second. Bhupendra Kashyap MTS, Chandrakala, Upper Division Clerk, Ashok Bhatoiya, Lower Division Clerk, Kesar Singh, Upper Division Clerk, Narayan Das, Clerk Om Prasad and Electrician Vijay Kumar received prizes in these competitions. Apart from this, 10 officers/employees were honored with prize money and citations for writing official work in Hindi under the incentive policy of the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

In October 2022, the institute’s scholars, officers, employees and their family members participated in various sports competitions organized in the institute. Apart from games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom, Drum Tod, various games for children such as Jalebi race, simple race, musical chair etc. were also included in these games.

In his address, the director of the institute, Professor Nageswara Rao, said that the awareness and use of the official language is increasing rapidly in the country. Professor Rao also has the additional charge of the Central Hindi Directorate, in such a situation, he said that a dictionary named ‘Hindi to Hindi’ is being prepared jointly by the Hindi Directorate and the Department of Official Language, which will prove to be very effective in the practical use of Hindi. He said that special efforts are being made by the University Grants Commission to ensure that graduation level education in the country is done in mother tongue, in which 12 languages ​​have been included and text books are prepared in almost all subjects and education is also being done in mother tongue. At the same time, he said that the Government of India is also determined to take our traditional sports to the world stage, which will give our country a distinct identity at the global level and sports lovers will get better opportunities to participate in competitions.

In this joint annual prize distribution ceremony, the stage operation related to sports competitions was done by Public Relations Officer Akhilesh Pathak, while the stage operation related to official language program was done by Hindi translator of the institute, Rajesh Kumar.
