Wife of former BJP MLA and former ZP member joins Cong

Indu Verma, wife of Late Rakesh Verma, former BJP MLA from Theog, and BJP Zila Parishad member has joined the Congress at AICC headquarter in Delhi.She joined the Congress in the presence of Himachal Congress in-charge Rajiv Shukla, AICC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik and State President Pratibha Singh.  Indu Verma  joining of Congress is seen as a big trump card opposition in Shimla district.  Political experts believe that Indu Verma’s family has a significant influence not only in Theog but also in the surrounding three assembly constituencies.  Theog’s fight will be tough after Indu Verma joins the Congress party.  Also, the future of many leaders may be at stake in the 2022 assembly elections.

 With Indu Verma joining the Congress party, not only affect Theog, but Kusumpti and Chapal will get interesting.  With his coming to the Congress,   Indu’s husband Late Rakesh Verma has been a three-time MLA from Theog.  His father-in-law was the DGP and people’s support has been there in the surrounding assembly areas, apart from politics.

 It is worth mentioning that Indu Verma’s husband has been getting more than 20 thousand votes every time in Theog.  They have their own special vote bank.  Indu Verma’s house is in Balsan.  That’s why they will have the biggest impact in Chapal.  They have also been considered to have a good hold in Kotkhai and Kasumpti area.
