We don’t want two types of armies, we will stop Agniveer Yojana, Modi government martyred 700 farmers: Rahul
Senior Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally in Una said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the center of corruption. The Modi government has snatched away employment opportunities, it did not provide 2 crore jobs annually but also ended the jobs that were being provided during the previous UPA government. Congress will give the youth the right to employment.
He said that we do not want two types of army. Himachal’s youth also used to join the army in large numbers, but after the introduction of Agniveer Yojana, their craze has reduced. Now there are two categories of army, a soldier gets the status of martyr on sacrificing his life for the country, while Agniveer does not. Agniveer’s family does not even have facilities on the lines of other soldiers. Agniveer Yojana will be discontinued when the India Alliance government comes. Himachal Pradesh’s youth will get opportunities to join the army like before. Rahul said that Modi government also martyred 700 farmers on the Delhi border, but has not given them martyr status till date. Nothing has been done for the farmers in Himachal and other states, while Adani’s loan has been waived off. BJP leaders call farmers terrorists. Congress will waive the farmers’ loan as soon as it forms the government. It will make a law to guarantee MSP for farmers.
Rahul said that BJP stole the Congress governments in Goa, Arunachal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, but could not topple the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh using money power. The people of the state are wise and have understood the political corruption of BJP. Instead of serving the people for ten years, the BJP government at the Centre toppled the governments elected by the people using money power. The Prime Minister kept making people ring the plates during Covid, while his job was to streamline the system in hospitals, provide oxygen and start ventilators.
