VO Janedghat played an important role in making women self-reliant
Jai Maa Durga Gram Sangathan Janedghat is playing an important role in making women self-reliant under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. As a result, this organization has got the honor of receiving the first prize in the general body meeting of the Cluster Level Federation (CLF) of Keonthal held in Janedghat for its looks of record, excellent management and work done towards self-reliance. Let us tell you that 17 village organizations are currently working in the nine panchayats under CLF Keonthal, whose work was assessed by the team of BDO Mashobra in the annual general body meeting held in Janedghat recently, in which the work of this village organization was rated as the best.
Suresha Thakur, Pradhan of Jai Maa Durga Gram Sangathan, said that about one hundred women are working in 13 self-help groups under the village organization, who have been given a loan of 12 lakhs under NRLM to start their own business. In which a loan of minimum 50 thousand to maximum one lakh rupees is given at a cheap interest rate, which has to be returned within one year.
He said that women have started their own business at home according to their interest and convenience. Some women are making pickles, chutney, jam, sewing and embroidery. While some women are producing cheese, ghee and milk. He said that it is a matter of happiness that women have started becoming self-reliant by starting their own business, due to which women have become self-dependent and are helping their husbands in the daily expenses of the house.
Suresha Thakur thanked BDO Mashobra Ankit Kotia and CLF Keonthal’s Pradhan Anita Sharma, Deputy Pradhan Rita Bhardwaj and Secretary Sunita Rana for guiding this village organization and making it technically strong. She told that a meeting of the village organization is held on the 10th of every month in which various topics are discussed with the women.
