Agriculture Minister Chaudhary Chandra Kumar has said that Virbhadra Singh was the messiah of development. Virbhadra Singh has made a huge contribution to the development of the state, which will always be remembered. He said that as a minister, he learned a lot from Virbhadra Singh under his leadership. The loss that the state has suffered due to his departure cannot be compensated.
Remembering Virbhadra Singh on his birth anniversary at the State Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan, party leaders and workers paid homage to his photograph.
Prominent among those who paid homage to late Virbhadra Singh on his 91st birth anniversary at the state congress office were Agriculture Minister Choudhary Chandra Kumar, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, former Minister Thakur Kaul Singh, Shimla city MLA Harish Janartha, Himuda Vice President Yashwant Chhajta, Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, besides councillors, former Mayor Adarsh ​​Sood, Manoj Kumar, Jaini Prem, Narendra Kataria, state Women Congress president Zainab Chandel, Youth Congress president Chhatar Singh, besides former state congress committee officials, women congress, Sevadal, Youth Congress, NSUI officials and a large number of party workers paid homage to Virbhadra Singh.
Later, while talking informally to journalists, Vikramaditya Singh said that today’s day inspires us to follow the ideals of Virbhadra Singh and the path shown by him. He said that the six-time Chief Minister served the people of the state as Chief Minister for more than 22 years. He did development work without any discrimination, giving priority to the overall development of the state. This is the reason that even today he is being remembered with the same love and respect as people respected him during his lifetime. Expressing gratitude to the people of the state, he said that he will always follow the path shown by Virbhadra Singh, and public service is his goal.
In response to a question, Vikramaditya Singh said that the statue of Virbhadra Singh has been installed on the Ridge ground. It will be unveiled on July 15. He said that earlier its unveiling was scheduled today on 23 June but the central high command has expressed its desire to attend the ceremony, due to which the ceremony has now been scheduled for July 15.
