Vinay Kumar expressed strong displeasure at BJP’s absence from crucial meeting to discuss RDG
State Congress President Vinay Kumar expressed strong displeasure and surprise at the BJP’s absence from a crucial meeting called to discuss the financial situation following the discontinuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG). He said this clearly demonstrates that the BJP has no concern for the state.
Vinay Kumar also added in his statement that whenever the state needed help, BJP has always run away from its responsibility. When Himachal was fighting for statehood, BJP leaders had openly opposed it and said, “Beat statehood with a thud.” When a huge disaster struck the state, it was the BJP that avoided discussion in the Assembly. A resolution on the disaster was passed with all parties to approach the central government, but the BJP turned its back on that too. Today, when a crucial meeting was convened to discuss the state’s future after the suspension of the revenue deficit grant, BJP leaders also abstained from attending.
He said that this has become the BJP’s “basic instinct.” Instead of supporting the people of the state, they are instead acting at the behest of their masters in Delhi, engaging in a conspiracy to harm Himachal. The closure of the RDG is a grave injustice to the state.
Vinay Kumar said that against this anti-people action of the BJP government at the Centre, he has appealed to the people of the state to come forward and support the government and strongly oppose this decision.
BJP’s policies have pushed the state into economic crisis.
Attacking the state BJP leaders in harsh words, he said that the previous BJP government looted the state treasury. Debts of more than 75 thousand crores and liabilities of more than 12 thousand crores were handed over to the Congress government as a legacy.
He stated clearly that the economic mismanagement of the previous BJP government broke the state’s financial backbone, and to date, the central government has not provided even a single rupee of financial assistance to the state. Even during the disaster, the state received no central assistance.
Referring to the natural disasters of the last two years, Vinay Kumar said that the state suffered losses worth thousands of crores of rupees, but the Centre has not provided any real assistance so far.
He reminded that the state has not yet received the disaster relief amount of ₹1,500 crore announced by the Prime Minister. Despite this, BJP leaders are misleading the public by claiming that the central government has showered relief on Himachal. The BJP is acting out of political vendetta in the state.
He alleged that the BJP, out of political malice,
She is punishing the people of Himachal because they threw her out of power.
Due to this feeling of revenge, the Centre is neither providing relief nor taking decisions on the rights of the state.
Vinay Kumar said that Congress will fight for the rights of the state with full force.
Congress will never back down from this, rather a decisive struggle will be waged at every level.
